The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS continue their winning ways as the Bantam (U14) and Pee Wee (U12) team find success in Everett Washington this past weekend.
The Bantam (U14) team went 4-0 beating the Jr Stealth twice and Canadian Box teams Kamloops and Langley in some hard fought battles. The Bantam team was lead by strong offensive performances by Canadians Ty Yanko and Tre LeClair, with some great defense by California’s Brock Bauer, Zak Zemel and new comer Kevin Jaggers.

The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS traveled to Everett Washington on Jan 28 to battle the Jr Stealth in the Midget (U16) and HS Elite Divisions. The games were played in the Comcast Arena, home of the Washington Stealth.

When taught properly, played under the proper rules with players equipped with the right gear, the game of Box Lacrosse, unmodified, is an amazing game to be a part of. It’s fun, it’s safe and it produces some amazing skills that everybody in the US is talking about.

Denver University Elite is directed and coached by Denver University Assistant coach and former NLL pro Matt Brown. Cali*Lax ALL-STARS is directed and coached by former NLL pro Shaydon Santos.

Santa Cruz, CA – the Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Bantam A (U14) and Pee Wee A (U12) will hit the Pepsi Center on Aug 20/21 for the Jr Mammoth’s invitational youth Box Lacrosse tournament. They will be joined alongside the Jr Stealth, Jr Mammoth and local Denver youth teams.

Santa Cruz, CA – The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS, America’s first youth Box Lacrosse program, sent 7 teams to compete at Calgary’s Canada Day Tournament . The California Box teams were comprised of the following age groups and skill levels – Novice (01/02) B division, Pee Wee (99/00) A and B division, Bantam (98/97) A and B division, Midget (96/95) A and B division.

Congratulations to Paul Kunzel winner of 2011 PCA Double-Goal Coach Awards Presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance. The South Valley Chiefs and Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Bantam B coach Paul Kunzel was recently awarded, along with 19 other coaches across America, as winners of the Positive Coaching Alliance prestigious award.

The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Varsity program traveled south to Huntington Beach to take on the best of the Orange County Indoor Lacrosse league in a Goodwill Series over Labor Day weekend. The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Varsity program included many of this past summer's Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Midget ('94/'95) aged players who have toured Canada and played in 'real' Box Lacrosse Tournaments.

The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Bantam A team traveled to Whitby Ontario from August 1-8th and played top level 'A' Box Lacrosse teams. These Cali*Lax players have been playing 'real' Box Lacrosse for 2 years at the Box Lacrosse Academy's leagues in Northern California and have traveled to Calgary's Canada Day Tournament on 2 different occasions. Directed by 12 year NLL Pro Shaydon Santos, the Box Lacrosse Academy introduces the authentic Canadian Box game to California youth players. Modeled after the Whitby Warriors Box Lacrosse Program, the program in which Santos played since the age of 4, the Box Lacrosse Academy and the Cali*Lax ALL-STARS are the first youth program of its kind in the USA.

The Cali*Lax ALL-STARS put in a strong showing for each of the 5 teams entered into the Canada Day Tournament in Calgary, Alberta this past week. The 2009 Cali*Lax ALL-STARS were the first USA based team to venture north of the border in a sanctioned CLA lacrosse tournament and this year were joined by Denver University Elite Youth program. Each team got off to a slow start picking up the nuances of a different game. Once settled, the entire group finish strong winning most of their late round games. Here are our results
